Science Happy Hour + Poison + Dr. Jennifer Lowry, Children's Mercy Hospital

Regular price $10.00

The history of poisons and poisoning dates back thousands of years despite the term poison first entering the English literature in 1225 AD.  Poisons have played an important role in human history – from political assassinations (Roman empire to present times), to weapons of war, to contemporary environmental concerns, and to medicinal drugs used therapeutically or for abuse.  This presentation will provide the history of poisonings to present time to emphasize that everything is a poison.  It’s just the matter of dose.
