Dr. Engel's talk is actually entitled "400 Million Years on Six Legs: Evolution of the Insects" and will highlight interesting facts regarding the evolutionary history of insects from his work on their fossil record and diversity. It will touch on the origin of insects, the origins of flight, the reconstruction of ancient insect songs, fleas on dinosaurs, origin and extinction of social bees, etc.
