About the Camp
Paleontology Rocks! Summer Camp $129 per camper ($60 for members)
Monday, June 8th - Thursday, June 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
For ages 10-14
Ever wonder if there are fossils in your yard?...Why a rock is not a gem?...What came first, the chicken or the egg? Here’s your chance to explore the world like never before and find answers to these burning questions and so much more! Dig into natural history through authentic, hands-on exploration of fossils, rocks and gems, insects and more in our hands-on Discovery Camp. Students will dig fossils they can keep, collect and pin insects, and grow their own minerals!
BONUS – Discover the Field Overnight Camp Out
$100 per participant (2 participant minimum: adult and child).
8:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13th through 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 14th
Those who complete Discover Camp are eligible to participate in the “Discover the Field Camp Out” in central Kansas, Saturday, June 13th through Sunday, June 14th. Using knowledge gained in Discover Camp, campers will participate in two days of fossil hunting and all things nature during an overnight camp out led by MAP scientists! Includes round-trip transportation, camp grounds, park entry fees, rock and fossil collecting materials, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 1 dinner, snacks, and beverages. What camp out would be complete without a campfire, s’mores and stories!?
